hackAIR is committed to protect your privacy and give you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Privacy Policy applies to the hackAIR web and mobile platform (“hackAIR”, “we”) and governs data collection and usage. hackAIR determines the purposes and means of the processing of your personal data therefore hackAIR is considered as “Controller” of your personal data.

We collect as little information as possible to be able to provide you with useful services through our app. This information includes:

Your geolocation is being collected every time that you visit the hackAIR website and it needed for the functioning of the app and for providing our services to you. Your email address is being collected during the registration to the platform and it is used for creating user accounts and for sending notifications in case you have subscribed to them. At the bottom of each notification email, information is provided how you can unsubscribe from receiving future emails. All requests to unsubscribe from the hackAIR platform notifications will be processed in a timely manner. You IP address is used for finding out your location and it is not stored by us. Your login information is necessary for monitoring users’ access to the app. If you choose to, you may give us health related information (cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, pregnancy) to receive personalised recommendations about air quality in your area.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information through hackAIR public message boards (e.g. the name of your sensor, a subjective perception through user name), this information may be collected and used by others.

 

3. HOW WE COLLECT AND USE INFORMATION

 

All the above personal information is given to us by you when you interact with our app. We do not use any additional sources to collect information about you.

hackAIR collects and uses your personal information to operate the hackAIR platform and deliver the services you have requested. Your personal information is collected and used for as long as you use the platform. When you delete your account, all personal information is automatically and permanently deleted.

We may use your email address to communicate with you for other purposes (e.g. to invite you to events that may interest you, to ask your opinion for our services). In such cases, we will ask for your explicit consent before proceeding with the processing of your data.
We ensure that your data will not be used for purposes other than those mentioned in this policy without your prior notification and consent if required.

When a user deletes her/ his account, all personal information is automatically and permanently deleted.
In general, after the end of retention period, your personal data are destroyed, deleted or anonymized.

If, for reasons of complexity of the request or a multitude of requests, we are unable to respond promptly, we will notify you within thirty days of any delay, which in no case may exceed two months from the expiration of the 30-day deadline. It is possible to ask you for identification (e.g. photocopy of your identity card or passport) to avoid non-authorized reveal of your personal data.
To ensure that your personal data are always accurate and updated, we recommend you keep us informed about your data, as needed (e.g. in case of a change in an email address).

We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

Although our site may contain links to third-party sites, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these sites, and we expressly disclaim any liability for any loss or damage that may be caused by the use of these links. 13. DATA TRANSFERS OUTSIDE TH EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA

We do not own file servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). However, we may use cloud and / or marketing services from reputable providers such as SharePoint, DropBox, MailChimp, Google, etc., situated both inside and outside the EEA. We always check that such providers comply with the relevant GDPR requirements before start using their services.
Moreover, cross-border transfer of personal data to non-EEA jurisdictions may occur as a result of the use of Google Analytics cookies, and we ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection regulations by relying on standard contractual clauses or other suitable mechanisms to safeguard your personal information.
